Renee – Office Manager
Renee is our office manager and heads up our billing department. Renee is originally from Massachusetts and has lived in the Venice area for 27 years. She has over 20 years experience in the ophthalmology field as both a clinical supervisor and office administrator. Renee has extensive experience dealing with the complexities of health insurance and is always available to answer any billing or insurance questions you may have.
Jennifer, Surgery Coordinator/Technician
Jennifer has been Dr. McKinney’s technician since 2011. She assists with his patient workups for clinic as well as his surgery schedule. Jennifer first started her ophthalmology career in 2004 as a veterinary ophthalmic assistant. In 2007 she decided to further her skills in the field and made the transition into human ophthalmology. Jennifer received her certification for ophthalmic assisting in 2008. Jennifer is a Florida native.
Janet, Head Ophthalmic Technician
Janet has been working along side Dr. Conroy and Dr. McKinney since November 2000. She started working in ophthalmology in 1990 and received her certification as an ophthalmic technician in 1992. Her background in surgery also has given her a chance to assist with cataract surgery with Dr.Conroy and Dr.McKinney. She has lived in Florida since she was 4 years old, her family moved from New Jersey to enjoy the sun and fun here in Florida. She currently lives in Englewood and enjoys kayaking on the weekends with her husband Lance.
Dianna, Ophthalmic Technician
Diana is a native of Michigan and has worked in ophthalmology as a technician for over twenty years. She relocated to Florida twelve years ago and continued to pursue her career in ophthalmology in the Sarasota/Venice area. Diana has been a member of Dr. McKinney’s technical staff for the last three years. She is an avid golfer who also enjoys fishing and boating.
Sally, Ophthalmic Scribe Specialist
Sally has worked as Dr. McKinney’s scribe for the past three years and has worked in the ophthalmology field for over ten years. Prior to this, she worked as a clinical program coordinator at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and owned a medical/legal transcription business. She’s an avid Philadelphia sports fan who enjoys the beach, gardening and listening to live music. She is compassionate and hopes to make your visit at Oasis Eye Care a pleasant experience.
Jan – Receptionist
Greeting you to our office is receptionist, Jan. Jan comes to our practice from Cape Cod. Jan’s career in ophthalmology began 25 years ago in the Boston area. She has experience as a technician, surgical counselor and administrator in practices in Arizona and Massachusetts. Jan’s leisure time activities include travel and exploring her adopted home state of Florida. Jan will be happy to schedule your visit and welcome you to our practice.
Eleanora – Receptionist
Even though Eleanora has been greeting and scheduling patients for the past two years as a member of the front desk team, she continues to train and maintain her 26 year certification as an ophthalmic technician. She began her 28 year ophthalmic career as a technician in Memphis, Tennessee. She has lived in numerous U.S. cities as well as Guam and Naples, Italy where she became fluent in the Italian language. She loves to fish and enjoys the varieties of wild life she gets to experience here in Southwest Florida on a daily basis. Her goal is to use her knowledge and experience to make your visit as pleasant and stress free as possible.
Christie McKinney, Dry Eye Coordinator
I am not only the wife of Dr. McKinney and mother to our 2 boys but I am also an RN. I have practiced in ophthalmology, in the hospital setting as a cardiac critical care nurse and most recently in promoting a program to help identify kids with developmental disabilities and autism with Family Network on Disabilities. I will be joining the practice to help evaluate and educate patients on specifics of Dry Eye Disease. I love to teach and feel privileged to be working at such a great office. In my spare time I volunteer at the our childrens’ school and volunteer with our church within our mission ministry that serves children in Guatemala.
Kris – Optician
Kris has been and optician for over 28 years with management and lab experience. She enjoys helping patients find the proper fitting frames and takes the time necessary to educate her patients on all of the lens options available so that she can design lenses specifically to fit their lifestyle, cosmetic and vision needs. At Optical Impressions, you will find a wide variety of frame styles to choose from as well as an exceptional level of service through the use of premium technology, expertise and products. You will find the process a pleasant one with Kris’ knowledge and friendliness.
